Aloysians Von Taine faced La Salle in their fourth MHA Cup game. Aloysians are missing some important players like captain Philip Mifsud, Peter Naudi and Karl Chetcuti. Even though Aloysians Von Taine were pressuring their opponents, and creating some good attacking play, the score was opened by the La Sallians. After the 16th minute the score was still 4 – 4. Both teams were focusing on the defence but the attack was building up slowly. La Salle got ahead with a four goal lead but Aloysians players worked hard to reduce the goal difference. Goals from Alex Di Pilato and Karol Lemish helped the boys in red finish the half time by a score of 10 – 9.

 

The second half saw a more compact Aloysians squad. By the 15th minute Aloysians Von Taine managed to lead with a 3 goal difference. However, La Salle were picking up and managed to level the score. Young Matthew Attard scored a very important goal for the Aloysians with just a few minute remaining until the final whistle. Andre Borg had another amazing performance in the Aloysians goal post. In the last 45 seconds and with just 1 goal difference the tension was high for both teams. La Salle managed to penetrate the Aloysians defence however their shot was saved by the Aloysians goal keeper. Aloysians Von Taine won this game with a score of 24 – 23 and Alex Di Pilato was selected as player of the match. 

 

Aloysians Zmerc faced Kavallieri in their fourth MHA Cup game. The Aloysians had a rough start to the game. Kavallieri opened the score without any replies from the Aloysians. Aloysians defence was not functioning properly and this surely didn’t help the morale of the team. However, the Aloysians squad managed to come back in the game with some good team play, recuparating from a 6 goal difference and ending the first half with a score of 11-11. 

 

During the second half Aloysians Zmerc started at a faster tempo. Some great shots from right winger Rebecca Bonello and captain Brenda Mamo gave some new energy to the Aloysians. However, the Kavallieri girls were fighting back and took the lead once again. Even though the Aloysians were trying to regain their focus, too many unforced errors were diminishing their chances to strike. Kavallieri won the game with a score of 20 -24.
